Community Engagement

2021-2022 Academic Year

The land on which McGill University is situated was taken from Indigenous peoples, who are still living in Canada today and who are affected by the ongoing reality of colonial history and systemic racism. Throughout the past and continuing on into the present, diverse and active Indigenous communities have connected to and cared for the land we occupy as Quebec. To learn more about these cultures and how we can act in solidarity with Indigenous peoples, GEEC is organizing a FREE trip to the McCord museum. Our two-hour visit will include a guided tour discussing Indigenous history and perspectives, as well as unstructured time to explore the new Indigenous Voices of Today: Knowledge, Trauma, Resilience exhibition.

Note that registration to the event beforehand is required as GEEC has a limited number of tickets to offer for this event.
