2019-2020 Recruitment Details for GEEC!

Updated: Sep 8, 2019

We’re pleased to announce that the Chemical Engineering Equity & Diversity Committee (chEDC) is expanding and rebranding!

Beginning in Fall 2019, we will move forward as the Graduate Engineering Equity Committee (GEEC) serving the graduate and postdoctoral population across the Faculty of Engineering at McGill University, including the schools of Architecture and Urban Planning.

We’re thrilled about this transition and are looking for new members to join the team! You'll find a list of all available positions here. All graduate students and postdocs in any department or school within the Faculty of Engineering are welcome to apply. We'll be accepting applications on a rolling basis throughout the 2019-2020 academic year.

The chEDC was established in 2017 to create spaces for the exploration of topics related to social equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), while focusing on the experiences of graduate students and postdocs. Our main goal is to foster a sense of community among our population while highlighting the relevance of EDI in STEMM, academia, and beyond. Our initiatives offer the opportunity to engage with students, professors, and staff members across campus to address an ongoing need for social awareness, education, and empathy.

To express interest in joining the committee, please contact Stephanie Fernandez (current Managing Director) at equity.geec@gmail.com with the following information (UPDATED SEP. 2019):

1. A brief introduction (your name, department/school, degree program or position)

2. The committee position(s) for which you are applying

3. If applying for a Managing Director or Coordinator position: A max. 250-word statement describing your motivations for joining the committee and any relevant experience

We look forward to diversifying our team and moving GEEC forward with new events and initiatives in the 2019-2020 academic year!

Sincerely,

Your Graduate Engineering Equity Committee
