Over the past year, McGill Student Services has been steadily establishing a team of health and wellness experts known as Local Wellness Advisors (LWAs). With a promise of 12 LWAs in place by Fall 2019, the intention is for students to have a point of contact within their faculty who can help them navigate through resource information and access the appropriate type of support for their needs.
We're happy to introduce the LWA for the Faculty of Engineering: Lauren Weber! Lauren is a trained clinician whose role is to orient and connect students with the appropriate resource both on and off campus for their unique situation. She provides wellness programming to equip students with tools for taking charge of their mental health, as well as programming for the faculty on mental health awareness, prevention, and early intervention.
Lauren is now offering one-on-one consultations at the McGill Engineering Student Centre (MESC) to ensure that students are well supported. You can book an appointment with her by visiting the Student Wellness Hub website. This is also where you'll find updates on her events, workshops, and initiatives scheduled for the Fall 2019 term---stay tuned for a possible collaboration with GEEC!
Feel free to contact Lauren at lauren.weber2@mcgill.ca or stop by MESC (Frank Dawson Adams Building, Room 22) and say hi!
