A guest seminar given in a graduate-level Chemical Engineering course: Research Skills & Ethics. An introduction to concepts of social equity, diversity, and inclusion and their relevance to the various roles undertaken by graduate students---researcher, mentor, teaching assistant, author, etc. This workshop combines a presentation of basic principles and terminology with case studies, statistics, group discussion points, and interactive exercises.

Anne-Marie Parent from McGill's Peer Support Centre joins us to deliver a training workshop on principles of active listening​ and peer support. This workshop is geared toward students in leadership positions whose work and team dynamic can benefit from active listening skills.

Organizing Inclusive Conferences

What are some of the common barriers graduate students and postdocs face when participating in academic conferences?
